To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn) There Is A Solistace

I mentioned that "the solstice is approaching" and someone who is a Christian (I'm not going to say who)(It's not one of my friends) jumped down my throat about how evil it was.

"Solstice" is the turn of the seasons. This is evil how?

They said it was because pagans celebrate the solstice, and so it's evil. At least, that's the basic explanation.

So... you can't acknowledge that fall is flipping to winter?

I was told that you can, but not to call it the "solstice". Is this true of all Christians? I never remember this in church. I thought it was a matter-of-fact kind of word, like "lunar" and "dirt".

What gives?
