The Last Rambling Post From My Apartment

Update on my paint colors: I put a nice chocolaty mousse-y brown from the living room to the kitchen wall, and it offsets the blue very nicely.

I had a minor freak out with the green and called Rob.

"Rob! I hate the green! It has to go NOW!"

He put on his "'Now, Honey,' tone". I love it because it's very calming, and I know that no matter how FREAKISHLY PHYSCHO I get, it will all be ok, because I'm living with a calm, rational person who will make everything ok. I loathe it because, um, it highlights the fact that I tend to freak out and get phycho about things, and he doesn't. Ever. (Unless a bug flies near him).

"Honey," he started, and I rolled my eyes. "We can't change it now. We can change it later, but we need to move first. We don't have time to repaint."

I've learned to quit arguing at that point. There is no arguing with the "Now, Honey".

So I'm living with the green. For now. I put all white stuff in the bedroom (white duvet cover, curtains, picture frames) to offset it, and it's looking better. So maybe we'll keep it. Maybe.

$150 got me a sofa and huge arm chair at a garage sale. They're bright yellow and look nice next to the bright blue walls in the living room.

Moving day was productive; thank you to everyone who helped. As soon as we're settled it's really big barbeque time!

The washing machine broke. It wouldn't go through a spin cycle. But I got the majority of our laundry done before it happened. I called Sears and they told me how to trouble-shoot it, but it didn't work. So I have to call them again.

I told my future mother-in-law I was going to start shopping for a dress, and she goes, "We haven't even discussed the wedding yet!". I pointed out it was going to be a dress, it was going to be white, and that I didn't need to have anything planned to go shopping. I have a feeling I'm in for a battle of wills.

Jared, Rob's best friend, ran into Rob's ex-girlfriend and told her we were engaged. This is the one that kept trying to flirt with him after we were together, and said I wasn't "that cute". (Bitch.) She wasn't happy with the news. I'd love to run into her and let her admire my left hand. Or punch her with it. Either one.

That's about it! I'm all over the place getting things settled. I'm actually officially "bustleing" around. I'll be happy when I'm settled.

Peace out until the 8th or so when we have cable in our house. This is my last entry from the apartment.

It's been an interesting time here, and there are bits about the apartment that I'll miss here, memories and so forth, and also memories I'll be VERY happy to let go.

Later.
