Painting
Painting is half way done! The stats thus far:
Breakfast nook: "summer lily" (looks orange to me, everyone says it's yellow. the color of happy and joy and sun)
verdict: I love it! It's so sunny! I didn't think it was possible to love that damn breakfast nook anymore than I did, but I do!
Living room, 2 walls out of 3: "Amsterdam" (really sunny blue, zero grey undertones)
verdict: it's BRIGHT and I like it a lot! I was going to go with a soft taupe and then a darker soft taupe for the third wall, but Rob wanted blue. Since I wasn't completely sold on the idea, I asked Jen, who seconded the blue, and thus it is blue. I'm glad I don't have a taupe living room.
Bedroom: "emerald isle" (super green green, the color of a Starbucks apron... I didn't do that on purpose, I just noticed at work today that my fingernails, which are hopelessly stained, matched my uniform)
verdict: hmmm. It's REALLY effing green. I love the color itself (it's inspired, actually, by the color of the old, ratty tee shirt I took out of my mother's rag bag and insist on wearing.) There's just a LOT of "GREEN!" it in our tiny bedroom. I'll need to see it with curtains to really know... and if I still don't like it, ultimately it's only two hours of work and twenty bucks worth of paint wasted. I'll live. (Although it should be noted that it's mostly JEN'S two hours of work... she took over finishing the room as Stu and I got started on the breakfast nook.)
Next to paint: Rob's office and the third wall in the living room, as well as taking all the left over paint and painting the staircase going downstairs. I insist on having a fun basement!
EDIT: Rob's mother's friend gave us the towels she bought, making it our first official gift! Yay!
