Why I'm Excited
We're in love. After dozens of showings, five offers put down and fallen through and three home inspections, we found the most BE-YOU-TI-FUL house ever! I'm nervous to talk about it too much, because contracts have not been signed, but it's at the point, now, where it's highly unlikely that we won't get this house.
Things I love:
BIG BACK YARD. BIG FRONT YARD! Hardwood and gorgeous tile EVERYWHERE. Finished CEDAR attic. A super gorgeous magnolia tree in the back yard. Clean basement. Front loading washer and dryer in the basement that the people are leaving. (!!!) Super cute modern kitchen. Huge bathroom mirror! A breakfast nook!!!! I never! I love it!
There's no old, gross appliances, sinking floors, weirdly insulated attics, dirt crawl spaces, dirty smoke smell, mobile home siding, 6 foot ceilings or crazy chain-smoking lesbian homeowners making your home inspection miserable. That was the last house. My parents came to that one with us (my dad knows everything about heating, oil, AC, and all that "basement-y guy stuff", and my mom likes to come to give her always appreciated two cents on things). They were appaled about the condition of the last house, and my mother all but forbade us to buy it. They LOVED this one. And it's in Trumbull! It's only half a mile from our apartment. After looking at other houses in Shelton, the next town over, we were surprised to find ourselves just down the road, which I kind of like. Nothing's is final, but it's close enough that I'm getting excited. Then we have to clean and move!
